Explanation of 'Name' columns in Passenger List
|
The 'Name on Passenger List' column:
- shows details obtained from a manifest or newspaper report.
The 'Individual Wiki (GEDCOM) Page' column reflects the individual name in our Genealogy Database and:
- represents the results of genealogy research in identifying who the individual was and includes the TNGID number for the individual.
- resolves spelling errors in the original manifest, or in the transcripts in the newspapers of the day.
- provides the maiden names of married women, and firstnames and middlenames where known.
- has links that will take you to a biographical article on the individual.
The 'Family/Household Wiki (GEDCOM) Page' column reflects the family name in our Genealogy Database and:
- represents the results of genealogy research in identifying who the family was and includes the TNGID number for the family.
- resolves spelling errors in the original manifest, or in the transcripts in the newspapers of the day.
- has links that will take you to an article on a family group or household travelling together. This 'household' may also include, for example, servants whose name is not known.
