Explanation of 'Name' columns in Passenger List

The 'Name on Passenger List' column: shows details obtained from a manifest or newspaper report. The 'Individual Wiki (GEDCOM) Page' column reflects the individual name in our Genealogy Database and: represents the results of genealogy research in identifying who the individual was and includes the TNGID number for the individual. resolves spelling errors in the original manifest, or in the transcripts in the newspapers of the day. provides the maiden names of married women, and firstnames and middlenames where known. has links that will take you to a biographical article on the individual. This 'household' may also include, for example, servants whose name is not known.
