Usage

It is unnecessary to include braces, quotation marks or other wiki-markup in the template. The |text= field does allow the use of wiki-markup at the contributor's discretion.

  • image - Places an image relating to the subject of the article on the left side of the section.
  • size - Sets the image size, if left out or left blank it will default to 150px. Values must be entered xxxpx.
  • side - this field sets the alignment of the image; acceptable values are right or center.
  • caption - Creates a caption for the image.
  • title - the title of the work, it will automatically italicize it
  • comic - a "yes" in this field will add the option to include an artists name
  • author - the creator of the work
  • editor - a "yes" in this field will change the By to Edited by in the author field. It will not work if the comic switch is set to yes.
  • artist - The artist of the work, it will only work if the |comic= field is set to yes
  • publisher- the publisher name is listed here
  • page - is used to set the page that the product list resides on, e.g. |name=comic would set the More selected publications link to look for the sub-pages at Portal:Foo/Selected comic as well as setting the text of the link to More selected comics. Do not pluralize!
  • text - A brief summary of the subject.
  • link - sets the link in the Read more... that points to the full article.
  • archive - Using this field with a value of no will remove the More selected articles link in the lower left corner. Use this filed if you are using the |footer= parameter in the {{random box-header subpage}} template on the main portal page.

Time

Publisher Time Warner

Time (trademarked in capitals as TIME) is an American news magazine, similar to Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report. A European edition (Time Europe, formerly known as Time Atlantic) is published from London. Time Europe covers the Middle East, Africa and, since 2003, Latin America. An Asian edition (Time Asia) is based in Hong Kong. As of 2009, Time no longer publishes a Canadian advertiser edition. The South Pacific edition, covering Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, is based in Sydney. In some advertising campaigns, the magazine has suggested that, through a bacronym, the letters T-I-M-E stand for The International Magazine of Events.

Batman
created by Bob Kane, Bill Finger
written by Dennis O'Neil
drawn by Frank Miller
Publisher DC Comics

Batman (originally referred to as the Bat-Man and still referred to at times as the Batman) is a fictional character, a comic booksuperhero co-created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger (although only Kane receives official credit), appearing in publications by DC Comics. The character first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939. Batman's secret identity is Bruce Wayne, a wealthy industrialist, playboy, and philanthropist. Witnessing the murder of his parents as a child, Wayne trains himself both physically and intellectually and dons a bat-themed costume in order to fight crime. Batman operates in the fictional American Gotham City, assisted by various supporting characters including his sidekick Robin and his butler Alfred Pennyworth, and fights an assortment of villains influenced by the characters' roots in film and pulp magazines. Unlike most superheroes, he does not possess any superpowers; he makes use of intellect, detective skills, science and technology, wealth, physical prowess, and intimidation in his war on crime.
