His marriage to Ruby Helen Wigg was also mentioned in the papers - "31 Dec 1910 - St Peters College Chapel - Babington Aulay Macaulay, only son of the late Colin of India to Ruby Helen Wigg, elder daughter of F.H. Wigg and Mrs. Julia Wigg."

- Babington Aulay MacAulay was related to a rather well known family back in England & Scotland. His family is descended from Aulay MacAulay, clan chief of the MacAulays of Lewis, SCT. He can count among his relatives Zachary MacAulay of Rothley Temple in Leicester, the celebrated abolitionist and one time Governor of Sierra Leone, who has a memorial in his honour in Westminster Abbey. He is also related to Lord Thomas Babington MacAulay, the first Baron MacAulay of Rothley, a well know poet and writer who is buried in Poet's Corner of Westminster Abbey. Many of his relatives were Churchmen - in one family alone there were 5 sons who were all trained for the ministry. General Colin MacAulay - the real Colin MacAulay of India is also related to him
